Emotional Intelligence Advanced

TTUHSC and the Institute for Health and Human Performance (IHHP) have teamed together to deliver "The Science of Emotional Intelligence" in both live in-person and online formats. IHHP’s Science of Emotional Intelligence program equips people, teams, and organizations with the practical knowledge and skills to make their workplace culture a competitive advantage. After completing the program, participants will be able to:

  • Immediately apply the emotional management strategies they have learned to manage stressful situations more effectively

  • Manage the impact of individual behaviors on business.

  • Build engaging and meaningful relationships.

  • Foster a psychologically safe environment across their teams and organization.

  • Act as an exceptional leader who inspires and motivates their team to produce higher levels of contribution, productivity, and true engagement.

  • Define emotional intelligence and its value-personally and professionally

  • Describe the science that drives emotional behavior

  • Learn and practice a strategy to skillfully manage emotions when under pressure

  • Review a model to help connect with the emotions that drive the behavior of others

  • Identification of Physiological reactions of the Amygdala

  • Understanding and identifying personal triggers

  • Develop S.O.S.S (Stop, Oxygenate, Strengthen Appreciation, Seek Information) model

Earning Criteria

Required

course

Participate in the six-hour Science of Emotional Intelligence course. This course sets the stage for development of skills and abilities and provides structured learning and guided practice.

participation

Participants will create a personal action plan that will be implemented over 6 weeks. Partcipants are guided and coached in the development of this plan to ensure it is actionable and will promote implementation of EI skills.

exam

Follow up reflection and guided questions help participants showcase how they have applied and utilized learning outcomes.
