Emotional Intelligence For Leaders
Emotional intelligence is a vital skill in both personal and professional success – shaping the way we manage emotions, navigate relationships, and make thoughtful decisions. During this interactive 3.5 hour workshop, participants will explore the foundations of emotional intelligence and why it matters. We’ll dive in to the four core skills of EI – self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management – and learn how each skill shows up in real-life situations. Through engaging discussions, reflective activities and scenario-based exercises, participants will practice applying emotional intelligence when engaging in critical conversations.
After participating in this workshop, participants should be able to:
• Define what emotional intelligence is and why it matters.
• Explore the nature of the four core emotional intelligence skills.
• Identify what each of emotional intelligence skills look like in action.
• Demonstrate using emotional intelligence skills when navigating difficult or critical conversations.
Learning activities will be assessed by evaluating participants’ engagement and application of concepts learned during guided discussions, reflective activities and scenario-based breakout sessions.
• Guided discussions – assess understanding through the quality of participants’ contributions, their ability to connect ideas to the four core emotional intelligence skills, and their willingness to share insights and consider different perspectives.
• Reflective activities – assessment will focus on participants’ self-awareness and critical thinking, as demonstrated through thoughtful reflection on past experiences and their ability to identify areas for growth and strategies for improvement.
• Scenario-based breakout sessions – assess participants’ ability to apply emotional intelligence skills in real-world situations by observing how they navigate the scenarios, communicate with others, and choose effective tactics for positive outcomes.
