Foundations in Global Health

The Foundations in Global Health Microcredential equips participants with essential knowledge and skills to engage with global partners and address health global health challenges. Covering critical topics such as socioeconomic status, policy, Cultural Intelligence, ethical engagement, health inequity, and social determinants of health, this microcredential prepares students to make a meaningful impact in diverse global settings.

To earn the Foundations in Global Health microcredential, students must successfully complete the Global Health 101 course and develop an interactive learning activity relevant to the course content. This requirement allows students to apply their knowledge to real-world global health scenarios, enhancing their ability to address complex health issues across diverse populations. In doing so, they not only deepen their own understanding but also contribute to the learning of future students in this ever-evolving field.

Learning Objectives

•Discuss how globalization effects health, health systems, and the delivery of healthcare •Describe the implications of social determinants of health on health disparities •Consider ways to adapt clinical or discipline ­specific skills and practices to various global settings •Evaluate strategies to address current and future health inequities
